RE: Your Electrical cord

The resistance in the line is there whether coiled or not. What is not there until coiled is impedance. Yes an ac current through a coiled inductor will cause a magnetic force to be induced into an iron core, ie. the nail, but your 25 ft cord will not loose potential because you coiled it up, or at least not to an amount that you can measure. At the point it might loose potential, you would also notice it giving off heat. Part of the confusion is that resistance and impedance are both measured in ohms. RE: Good Sam Club ERS Auto Renewal w/o Noticel!!!

I've had auto renewal of things (like Reader's Digest subscription) but they always have sent advance notice. I wonder if notice was sent but just trashed along with all the other GS "spam". It's a new thing, they no longer have to send you a notice. Again, read your contract. It states that also!!! They hope you don't pay attention. Many people just pay their credit card bills and never read them!:Z There was a guy a few years back that sent out a batch of bills to doctors Lawyers, and other professional types, via their offices, for repair work supposedly done on their homes. Their secretary's would just pay them automatically. He had a good income without doing any work. It seems to me that this falls in the same category! :M

RE: Good Sam Club ERS Auto Renewal w/o Noticel!!!

If you look at your original contract, you will find that you agreed to this method of renewal. :M "It was to insure that you never have a lapse in coverage." Another reason to always read all contracts from cover to cover!!! :S

RE: Slide Construction

I suppose I depends if you ever want to remove them, tho I don't know why you would. Screws can be unscrewed. Rivets have to be drilled out. Either should hold as well as the other! JMHO! I doubt I would ever let my purchase decision be based on this! :h

RE: When Direct TV or Dish Net do you move the box?

Only $5.00 per month for additional box that stays in MH all the time. I know a lot of people that spend more than that daily on coffee.

RE: "Uhaul tires"???

It's a goodyear shop, with receipt, 5 year warranty. It seems to me that I remember there have been a few "Brand Name" shops around that have been hauled into court for a few other shady deals. OBTW, I think I know where you can buy some swamp land. If you are interested! :B

RE: Class A seating capacity

Transporting that many in this state without a CDL with a passenger endorsement is illegal. IMO, you are leaving yourself wide open for lawsuits. Hire a commercial bus. With a Professional Driver! As long as he isn't doing for hire or profit, in most states he would not be required to have CDL. My neighbor has 12 kids, I have yet to see a bus pull up to his house and I also know he only has standard drivers license. I also used to drive a van full boyscouts to various activites, a sixteen seater with all the seats in. My insurance company loved me. Bill State or other laws have nothing to do with it! Common sense is the requirement! JMHO!

RE: Electricity charges in NC for RV's

So what is anyone to do? Not live/stay in NC? I would contact the Public Utilities Commission. However I think that you will find that they can charge what ever they want. And you have the option to move! JMHO! :M

RE: Best Cooler?

Look at the tag on the cooler before you buy it. Brand doesn't matter. I bought one at Walmart 5 years ago that said it would keep Ice for 3-5 days in 95 degree weather. It does! Try using large chunks of ice instead of crushed. That also helps a lot.

RE: traveling with a small child

What would you have done while traveling with your grandchild's parent, when it was your child? I think you will find it's the same thing, just a few years farther down the road! JMHO!

RE: MH industry hurting

Just think RV's made by Samsonite Luggage I live in the town where the Samsonite headquarters is located. However, there is no manufacturing here any more. That was moved out of the country several years ago. Don't be surprised if the MH industry follows! JMHO! :M

RE: MH industry hurting

The MH industry is not the only one hurting. I am in a subsidiary of the "non mobile" home industry. It ain't good there either!

RE: Tow bars MH or Car mounted?

MH mounted is much easier! Because you have two independent legs on tow bar you don't have to be exactly in the right place, straight back, right distance, ect. I never need to have the DW guide me in. I just pull up to the back of the MH, extend the legs of the towbar and hook up.

RE: Charger/converter question

If you have a Bounder, the answer is: Yes it charges both. If you have a SOB, I don't know.

RE: Performance Chip / Gas Mileage

All vehicle manufacturers are forced to meet fuel efficiency standards by the government. Don't you realize that if there was an easy way to better the gas mileage, they would all ready be doing it! JMHO!!

RE: Hydroxy. from water as a fuel suppliment.

This stuff is nothing new! I watched a demo in an Iowa corn farmers barn in the 70's when the last fuel crisis was the big thing. Those of you old enough can remember the cars lined up to get fuel. There were hydrogen generators then that would hook up to your car's battery and produce hydrogen via electrolysis and you would then feed that directly into your carb and turn off the gasoline supply completely. Funny thing was, they never let the small demo engine run longer than about the same time it would take for the gas in the float valve to keep it running. We need to do something to solve our energy crisis, BUT, Be aware that there are "Snake Oil Salesmen" out there and ways to get cheap fuel is one of their favorite products! JMHO!!

RE: Gauges Not Reading Correctly

The best gauges are your eyes. :( When you can see the water backing up in your shower, the gray tank is full! :p When you can see the stuff getting close to the bottom of the tube below your toilet, it's time to empty the black tank. :o What can I say, other than I have never seen a set of the standard gauges that worked right. :M

RE: "Fuel Efficient" charging pattern?

The way I see it is for every amp hour you remove from a battery you will have to replace that many amp hours plus a small percentage for losses. Since lead acid batteries do not like deep discharges I would charge the battery often when I have access to a generator. It does not make sense to deep discharge when you have access to a generator. The cost of a good battery will buy more fuel than you will probably use for the life of the battery. I agree, and I don't see how using the battery longer between recharging is going to shorten the length of time to recharge. Only shorten the life of the batteries and eventually you will have to charge longer to get then to to accept the same amount of charge. But then I could be wrong! All I know is that my T-105's are 9 years old because I have respected them. At $250 a pair I could have at least 60+ hours of run time even at $4.00 per gallon X 5 or more sets of ruined batteries. JMHO!
